Our Purpose:

Reclaim The Music seeks nothing more and nothing less than to see God’s true music unleashed on the earth in whatever form He chooses.  Music should flow from Heaven downward to the songwriter, then directly to the Church and the world.  Call it a revival, call it a rebellion, call it what you like.  The time for a change is long overdue.

To accomplish this, we will need to break the ‘secular spell’ many Christian musicians and songwriters are under.  We will have to teach them to point their eyes not toward Nashville, but back toward Heaven.

To assist our cause we actively seek the assistance of talented musicians, pastors, youth leaders, music directors, praise and worship leaders, writers and others.

Who We Are:

The founding members of Reclaim the Music are all Christian musicians from two organizations; the progressive rock group Glass Hammer and a ministry named Music For Missions.  Many of these people are members of The First Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga, TN.

Our organization, Reclaim The Music, is in its infancy.  We hope to add members from around the globe over the coming months.

Current Projects:

Of course, a lot of time is being spent developing this website.  We are also just scratching the surface of what we want to say, and furiously debating the best way to say it.

In addition, we are looking for resources to help and encourage Christian musicians and songwriters to abandon the pop-influenced mindset of the CCM world.  We want their focus on God, not on ‘making it big’ or on current trends.

To accomplish this, we’re developing a creed for Christian musicians.  Once that has been prepared, we will make it available to every Christian musician and songwriter that has access to the internet.  As resources become available, we will expand this organization and seek to reach more and more people.

On November 5th, 2005 we will present a program at Belmont University in downtown Nashville, TN at a conference for scholars and C. S. Lewis enthusiasts called “Past Watchful Dragons”.  Later that evening, Glass Hammer will perform music from their upcoming album “The Inconsolable Secret” at a special concert at Belmont’s Massey Auditorium.
